A Night Game In The Big House | mgoblog

YES! The curmudgeons have ceded. This will look so cool and even though the cliched term that always gets thrown around with night gamges - “ELECTRIC” - it’s true. This will be electric. Against Notre Dame, no less.

There was always this anti-night game stance that the old brass held. For no other reason than because we never held a night game before, why do it now? But when everything about a night game is positive (environment, exposure, coverage, money) and the only reason some people oppose the idea is because - “BUT WE’VE NEVER DONE IT BEFORE” - the right way will win out in the end.

A Michigan man has won the world Rock Paper Scissors championship in Toronto.

Tim Conrad of Taylor clinched the title after five hours of play and nine matches at the Steam Whistle Brewery on Saturday night.

Facing off against his best friend in the first all-American final in championship history, Conrad beat Tom Butkin with paper covering rock.

Organizers say Conrad dressed as Captain America during the competition to honor his home country.

Michigan representin worldwide!

Side note: the Canadians wrote way better (and more awesome) headlines than the Americans. The Detroit Free Press ran with the boring "Local Man Cuts Down Opponents" and the Chicago Tribune ran with the most basic headline above all (found in the title of this post).

The Canadians? The Toronto Sun went with "Captain America rock solid" (fuck yeah). The Canadian Press wrote, "Michigan Hand Warrior is the new Rock Paper Scissors champion." That’s right, he’s a hand warrior. The greatest hand warrior of all, representing the great Mitten state.

I am now determined to step my game up to hand warrior status.

MINNEAPOLIS — Michigan’s dimming NCAA tournament hopes just got a little brighter.
Laval Lucas-Perry scored a career-high 19 points to rally Michigan from a 12-point deficit to a 67-64 victory over Minnesota on Saturday.
DeShawn Sims had 24 points and Manny Harris had 14 for the Wolverines (19-12, 9-9 Big Ten), who are trying to make the NCAA tourney for the first time since 1998.

WHAT A FRICKIN’ WIN!
