House Shoes ft. Danny Brown - “Sweet” (Tres Records, 2012)
You already know I’m all about this. The Time EP from House Shoes is out now with his full-length debut album, Let It Go following in June. #LetItGO
I have been wanting a House Shoes full-length album for so long. So excited about this… it will be rad. Cop the EP in the meantime. I just did.
House Shoes’s debut producer’s album “Let It Go” drops June 19th via Tres Records. The album is entirely produced by House Shoes, and features guest appearances from Black Milk, Danny Brown, Alchemist, Oh No, MED, Roc Marciano, Quelle Chris, Shafiq Husayn, and many others. “The Time” EP, which serves as a precursor to the full length album, is out today and features some album tracks as well as exclusive instrumentals limited to the EP.
Quelle Chris - “MTFO” (Fat Beats, 2011)
I highly (HIGHLY) recommend Quelle Chris’ new LP, Shotgun & Sleek Rifle. The production is top rank (“MTFO” was produced by none other than House Shoes), as Quelle handles most of the Madlibian-tracks himself along with contributions from Roc Marciano and Mosel. But it’s definitely the homespun, smoked-out rhyming that wins the day. It’s an understated technical/freeflow hybrid that draws you into Quelle’s world for 45-minutes, a world you don’t want to leave.
House Shoes - The King James Version Volume 1, Chapters 1-5
I remember ordering this the day it dropped a few years back, but House Shoes just liberated this gem for all on Twitter. The album is comprised entirely of vinyl samples that James Yancey used. It’s phenomenal.
House Shoes - “Newports”
Detroit hip-hop’s ambassador to the world. Most know him as a DJ, but I’ll be damned if he doesn’t have some awesome production to his name (check out his stuff I’ve posted before).
This one’s out now on the 4th installment of All City Record’s L.A. Series, so PAY him some attention via iTunes (May 18) or cop the vinyl release at your local record store.
House Shoes dropped this brand new Marvone LP on twitter last night. Production by the likes of Black Milk, 14KT, Vaughn T, Mr. Porter and Shoes himself and features by Bilal and Danny Brown.

House Shoes - The King James Version: Chapter 1: Verse 1

My copy of The King James Version (mixed by House Shoes and recorded by DJ Rhettmatic of the World Famous Beat Junkies) came in the mail yesterday, as you can see from the picture above. All I can say is that it’s money well spent… it doesn’t get much liver than listening to Shoes’ tribute to the G.O.A.T., the late great J Dilla (r.i.p.). Do yourself a favor and order a copy @ Rensoul.com.
